-Metabolomics as a tool to determine the functions of genes.
-Isolation of new biological active compounds from plants or plant cell cultures.
-Biosynthesis of secondary metabolites in plants, mapping of pathways with special emphasis on enzymes involved in the biosynthesis, and the isolation of these enzymes to make them available for further molecular biology studies on the genetic regulation of the secondary metabolism; developing proteomics and metabolomics for plants.
-Genetic engineering of plant secondary metabolism (metabolic engineering).
-Supercritical extraction of natural products
-Role of ionic liquids in plant cells
